Mayor Liecel Mondejar-Seville continues to champion women’s empowerment. On March 12, 2025, she led the observance of Purple Wednesday, reinforcing the local government’s commitment to gender equality. Marking the second week of March, the municipality of New Lucena proudly joins the nationwide celebration of National Women’s Month with a unified display of support.

With a heartfelt gesture of a purple heart, Mayor Liecel Mondejar Seville was seated alongside local government employees, all dressed in purple to signify their solidarity in advancing women’s rights and gender-responsive governance. The Purple Wednesday initiative highlights the role of women in leadership, economic participation, and community development, aligning with New Lucena’s vision for an inclusive and progressive society.
