Amidst the cool December night, the Municipality of New Lucena transformed into a breathtaking spectacle of lights and community spirit as the Festival of Lights unveiled its radiant display at the Municipal Plaza. 

The stars, intricately scarred into the plaza, tell a story of collaboration and unity, as they were crafted by a diverse group of contributors, including LGU employees, residents from 21 barangays, students from 12 elementary schools and four high schools, private citizens, civic organizations, and the invaluable assistance of Hilway LGBTQ, PYAP, 4-P's beneficiaries led by the inspiring Mrs. Fatima Tanque, and members of the PWD community.

The star decorations, each a testament to the creative spirit of New Lucena, reflect the collaborative efforts of a community determined to make the Festival of Lights a symbol of togetherness. The Municipal Plaza has been transformed into a radiant canvas, showcasing the talent and dedication of every contributing hand.

The festivities commenced with a vibrant program that featured dance presentations from different schools, filling the air with energy and enthusiasm. Mayor Liecel Mondejar-Seville, municipal and barangay officials, civic organizations, private business owners, LGU employees, teachers, students, and the entire community participated in a heartwarming unity dance. This symbolic dance underscored the unity and camaraderie that define the community of New Lucena.

The grandeur of the opening ceremony reached its zenith with a spectacular fireworks display that lit up the night sky. The explosions of color mirrored the collective joy and celebration as the entire community came together to mark the beginning of the Festival of Lights.

As an added delight, the Festival offers the Love Moment to Share (LMS) Photo Booth, inviting attendees to capture their cherished moments. The booth, open from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. until the end of December, provides a space for residents to immortalize their Festival experience and share the joy with friends and family.
